Welcome to DMV Dwelling.

A little bit of intro:

Hi, I'm Louisa. I live in northern Virginia, a place I've called home my whole life. I love it here. So much so, that I went into real estate when I was 24. Now I spend my days helping other people make the DMV their home, too!

DMV: D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. My team and I cover all three regions. Having three different real estate licenses is something very unique to our area... that's because we share one big hustle-and-bustle real estate market. And it's a market that can only be understood from the inside.

This blog is meant to be a resource for my clients who are getting ready to buy or sell a home. But, all are welcome! Take a look around. Read some blog posts. Feel free to reach out and tell me if there's a topic you want to know about. I'm more than happy to help anyone who's curious about buying, selling, and living in the DMV.

Living in an HOA feels very similar to living in a condo. The major difference is that you don’t legally own any share of the common areas; you only own your home and your lot. But, you are still responsible for common areas and have to follow HOA rules. These rules ar...

Most homebuyers need 30-45 days to get from the point where your offer on a home has been accepted, to legally owning the home (known as the closing process). But those 45 days aren’t the end-all-be-all of buying a home: the timeline actually spans anywhere from six mo...

Is it just me, or does "Seller's Market" sound kind of scary? Especially to people who are thinking about buying their first home. It probably makes you wonder, "what exactly is a 'seller's market?' If I'm thinking about buying a home...
